Synod Standing Committee Minute of Appreciation for service to the Synod Audit & Risk Committee and its successor, the Synod Risk Oversight Committee
George Neale, Director, George Neale & Associates Pty Ltd & Chair, Audit and Compliance Committee, Parramatta Mission
As Chairman of the Audit and Compliance Committee of Parramatta Mission I have had the pleasure of working with Allan Gibson for several years. His expertise and enthusiasm in the areas of corporate governance and risk management is most valuable. His assistance has enabled us to develop a proactive role for the committee within the organisation and has also enabled us to establish an outline of a risk framework which will ensure the viability of a complex organisation into the future.
On a personal basis I know that I can call or meet with Allan at any time to discuss concerns and seek advice on issues as they arise. As chair of the Audit and Compliance Committee the value of such support is without measure.
Allan is actively engaged in continuing professional development and education across the wide range activities in which he is involved. This ensures that the advice he provides is relevant and up to date.
Jeff Jones, Director JJ Project Consulting Pty Ltd RMIA ARC Committee
In my capacity of working with Allan Gibson in the Risk Management Institution of Australasia Audit & Risk Committee I had the privilege of his professional mentoring alongside learning from his governance prowess within the duties of the ARC. Allan’s wealth of experience and knowledge, together with his pragmatic approach, helped the ARC fulfil its charter in all areas of governance, risk and compliance oversight. Additionally, Allan personally provided me much valued assistance in my own carriage of ARC duties and general career development. I commend Allan for his mentoring and genuine support.
Belinda Rule, Director, Rule Consulting
“I was fortunate enough to have Allan as my mentor whilst on my 12 month graduate training program, and then as my manager for a time in Personnel, and then on and off in my time with Westpac in various roles that saw our paths cross on a number of occasions. Upon leaving the bank, our association continued as friends, and has done so now for the last 16 or so years, and we have maintained contact throughout all this time in our various seasons of life. During this time, Allan not only continued to be successfully employed in a range of roles including banking services, human resources, and risk and governance management, but alongside this, has been, and continues to be, active in numerous voluntary service roles within the community, and these days too, in his principal and chair roles with a number of organisations and committees. The qualifications he has gained over the years as well are testament to his dedication and commitment to improving himself and his job capabilities.”
